Christine Powell
I have extensive experience in emotional and mental health, initially working with children and adolescents in Social Care and CAMHs. Over the years, I’ve supported young people with anxiety, low mood, school refusal, behavioral challenges, and more. My work with adults began in Bereavement Counselling, shifting focus to trauma and attachment issues from early life, which often manifest as anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, addictions, eating disorders, OCD, and physical conditions. Recognizing that trauma is often stored in the body, my practice increasingly emphasizes the nervous system and physiology. I mainly use DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting), EMDR, and also integrate modalities like Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, and Lifespan Integration. Combining these helps clients release the past and lead more functional, joyful lives. I am accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow their ethical standards. I run a private practice from home, providing a comfortable space within walking distance of Shenfield Station, with parking available.
