Jonathan Channing

I am Dr Jonathan Channing, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with 20 years experience working in the NHS in both paediatrics and Psychiatry. I am also an accredited EMDR practitioner for children and adolescents and can provide therapy either face to face or virtually for trauma related symptoms. Having worked in many local CAMHS teams (Southampton CAMHS, New Forest CAMHS, Eastleigh CAMHS, Portsmouth CAMHS, Hampshire Eating Disorders team) I have seen young people turned away due to not meeting strict criteria and have witnessed young people having to wait a long time, often with significant deterioration due to a lack of resources to provide prompt timely treatment.
